{Mixed Media Tutorial} Monochromatic Tag by Amy

Good afternoon everyone, Amy here, with a little Monochromatic Tag using Distress Paints. I sure hope you all had a wonderful Holiday with your friends and family! With Winter upon us, I wanted to bring some color and butterflies into my project, and I hope you enjoy it!

I started with a tag cut from Canson Watercolor Paper using the Manila Tags CUTplorations Die. You then apply some Distress Paints onto your palette and spritzing with water. I used Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry for my shades of Pink here.

Smoosh your tag thru the paints. Keep applying layers of color until desired color and background is reached. Be sure to dry between layers.

Then apply black acrylic paint randomly thru the Trees 1 Stencil.

Create more texture in your background using The Artsy Border Stamps and ink in your monochromatic color palette; Memento Rose Bud Ink used here.

Highlight a few of your stamped background images with a White Gel Pen.

Stamp your sentiment, from the Trendy Butterflies 2 set,  with Jet Black Archival Ink and highlight with a White Gel Pen.

Next, stamp the large Butterfly from the Trendy Butterflies 2 set with Jet Black Archival Ink onto white cardstock.

Color your butterfly with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink and fussy cut it out.

Cut your butterfly in  half and adhere to your tag with glue. Highlight with a black watercolor pencil and a waterbrush.  This will give your wings some definition.

To finish, add some Spectrum Noir Pink Sparkle pen to the wings, this will add some color and glitter and help them stand out. ;o)

There we have it, a monochromatic Tag that makes me forget we got snow this year! :o)
